I have a bunch of friends that are incredibly passionate about football and watch almost every football game every Sunday. When I’m hanging with them on those 17 Sundays a year, I can’t understand anything they’re saying, and I’m basically trying to change the subject of conversation the whole time. They hate that.
Turns out this happens a lot more than I thought too. What happens when your boss invites you to watch a game that she or he is passionate about? What happens when you’re meeting your future father-in-law for the first time at Sunday dinner and it turns out he is a passionate football fan?
Why isn’t there a place where you can sign up to receive real time updates before and during the game of things to talk about or bring up that make you look like you know what you’re talking about.
You could just check your phone every now and again and pick up a couple great one-liners that, at the very least, keep you from looking like a complete newbie.
It may sound kind of lame to receive updates about what to say during a football game, but how could you use this capability for business meetings, dates, conferences or just about anywhere else?
