Ideas Every Day #240 – Brain Games

MIT has been developing a game that allows everyone to help map the brain – Eyewire.  Using crowd sourcing and game mechanics they are allowing thousands of players to help extend brain research.

What if you took this concept and extended it to other areas.  Loading in historical data you could basically build real life SIM Cities and Mayors could use it to find out the best options for programs in their cities.  Doctors may be able to use it to work with the community to develop individual patient recommendations.  Construction engineers and architects could be able to use it to load in building characteristics and find ways to develop the safest and most sustainable buildings.

Take big data, add in gamification and sprinkle on social psychology and community management – a good recipe for breakthroughs.

What would you want to build a game on?

Yes, and…
