Ideas Every Day #206 – Motion Sensor Ceiling Fan

I don’t use my ceiling fans enough.  They’re a great way to keep cool and circulate air, but coordinating the turning on and off of the fan and lights is a bit of a pain that has probably kept me from using the fan as much as I could.  I’ve used remotes and color coded light chains to try and make it even a bit simpler, but there’s still room for improvement.

The next installment of features might be to integrate a motion sensor with a ceiling fan to automatically turn it off and on when you enter a room.  It could also use voice command to turn lights or fan on and off.  What if it had an automatic temperature setting (like an attic fan already does) that turns the fan on and off when the room gets too hot.

Seems like there is a lot of opportunity to improve the fan, what’s your idea?

Yes, and…
