Ideas Every Day #71 – BYOD Verification Service

BYOD is the trend where companies are trying to allow individual employee’s to use their own devices on and to access internal company networks and information.  Lots of companies are trying to adopt this trend in order to reduce their overall costs.  However, many are hesitant because of potential security, compatibility, and support risks.

What about a service that provides some kind of verification that a user’s personal device is capable/secure/etc. to operate on the company’s environment?  A quick service that checks the individual device to see if it has malicious software installed, the latest secure software updates, and other things that would help give a level of comfort to the company’s network operators.

What other businesses can spring up around BYOD?
