Ideas Every Day #60 – One Version Files

I hate having multiple versions of files across the computers I use.  Sure, services like dropbox have helped but that just helps me organize my or my team’s files.  What if there was only one version of every file (original file like an unaltered picture) that everyone in the world shared instead of each of us having our own.

What could you learn about that file by the meta data that other user’s actions attach to it? What would happen to the info about info if we all contributed to the same repository? Maybe it’s like a dropbox or GitHub for the world?
