The Collapse and Expansion of Industries

The theory of the collapse and expansion of industries has been around for a while. Before Henry Ford’s assembly line there were hundreds of car companies in the US. After the assembly line there was less than a handful. Today, there are again hundreds, if not thousands, of car companies in the US that are redefining what it means to build cars thanks to cheaper technology and crowdsourcing.

The same phenomenon exists in all types of industries from newspapers to clothing. The question is where is your industry and how can you help drive the next phase of that industry’s contraction or expansion.
