Where Good Ideas Come From by Steven Johnson: A Book Review via Illustration

Here’s a great video with a quick synopsis of Steven Johnson’s book “Where Good Ideas Come From.”  It’s a great book that looks at the history of Innovation.

Spoiler alert: he focuses a part of the book on an incredibly important factor in spurring innovation – environment.  As he outlines, the collision of hunches (or half-ideas) is what can bring about major breakthroughs.  The goal is to set up an environment to create these collisions by increasing connectivity.

It’s a great book, and his new book called “The Innovator’s Cookbook” comes out Tuesday – hurry up and get it. It’s sure to be full of great recipes for innovation (yeah, cheap pun intended.)
